Early Career Trainee - Field Services Engineer

About the role

The Early Career Trainee - Field Services Engineer responds to service calls to perform repairs and planned maintenance (PM) on equipment, driving customer satisfaction through Service Excellence. The role is based remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned maintenance, safety and environmental inspections and maintain effective customer relations with minimal supervision, as assigned.
• Follow GE policies, procedures and hospital protocol, and complete the necessary documentation.
• Maintain daily communication with customers to ensure resolution and follow-up.
• Implement GE / customer facility contracts as instructed, supporting business goals.
• Assist more experienced technicians and Field Service Engineers on basic and complex repairs and resolutions.
• Work as part of the local team to deliver efficient service across the assigned area.
• Document actions and submit reports and summaries on schedule.
• Care for spares, tools and test equipment, ensure calibration, and maintain the approved parts inventory.
• Manage vendor service delivery in line with GE policies, as instructed.
• Keep up to date with current standards, codes and procedures for the safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction.
• Meet Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety and other applicable regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Higher education.
• Two years of experience in a compliance environment, working within codes and procedures to ensure safe and effective device operation.
• Previous experience building and maintaining good customer relations.
• Willingness to travel occasionally outside the assigned region.

Required skills

• Proficiency in electronic documentation using a PDA.
• Computer skills.
