Safety and Ecology Officer

About the role

IFF is looking for a Safety and Ecology Officer in Serpukhov. The role supervises technical safety support activities so that the organization complies with safety regulations and standards, leads effective and sustainable EHS systems and programs, and embeds safety as a core value. It covers compliance with federal, state and local EHS regulations and IFF's regional EHS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect workplaces and equipment to identify hazards, investigate and report accidents or injuries, and work with management on corrective actions
• Develop and implement safety policies, procedures and EHS goals and objectives
• Manage EHS functions such as job safety analyses, risk assessments, EHS training, incident analyses, industrial hygiene evaluations, inspections, environmental regulatory reporting, permit negotiation, data analysis and internal audits
• Lead ergonomic risk assessments and recommend improvements
• Conduct EHS reviews for new products, facility modifications, manufacturing changes and new equipment
• Direct emergency and spill response plans, disaster preparedness and the emergency response team, including drills and equipment readiness
• Monitor employee exposure to chemicals and other hazards through industrial hygiene sampling and coordinate with industrial hygienists and safety consultants
• Work with business and facility groups on compliance, including evaluation of new materials
• Communicate EHS team expectations, give regular feedback and assess EHS talent
• Take part in IFF's environmental training and apply it to daily work
