Process Engineer/Specialist – Hydrometallurgy/Flotation (On‑Site Rotation)

About the role

Our client seeks a technically strong Process Engineer/Specialist to provide on‑site continuity and operational support for hydrometallurgical and flotation processes at a remote site in Eastern Russia. The position follows a 51‑day on‑site / 33‑day home rotation schedule, with travel, accommodation and meals supplied.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for solvent extraction‑electrowinning (SX‑EW) operations.
• Lead optimisation of flotation circuits, including Jameson cell performance and reagent management.
• Monitor and analyse process data across milling, grinding, CCD and hydrometallurgical circuits.
• Conduct mass‑balance calculations and generate performance reports using advanced Excel.
• Support laboratory testing programmes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 5–6 years of on‑site operational experience in mineral processing and hydrometallurgy.
• Proven experience with solvent extraction of base metals and SX‑EW circuit support.
• Strong background in flotation, reagent optimisation and performance improvement.
• Ability to work long hours in a demanding plant environment and handle technical challenges.
