Laboratory Technician II

About the role

Core Laboratories, a provider of reservoir description and production enhancement services, is hiring a Laboratory Technician II. The position performs basic to moderate difficulty laboratory tests to determine the chemical or physical characteristics requested by clients.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate laboratory equipment in line with standards and good laboratory practice
• Perform analytical tests from defined standards and procedures
• Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment and calibrate instruments
• Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas
• Follow safety and quality requirements set out in laboratory and safety manuals and company policies
• Complete laboratory raw data sheets and enter results accurately into laboratory computer programs
• Resolve routine issues without supervision and attend regular safety meetings
• Attend training and pass exams in petroleum, chemical and gas analysis, including Right-to-Know and hazardous materials disposal training

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• At least one year of related laboratory experience or training preferred
• Ability to work non-traditional hours and days, including overtime

Required skills

• Working knowledge of basic to moderate analytical methods and standards such as ASTM, UOP and IP
• Basic arithmetic and ability to read, interpolate and interpret data, graphs and control charts
• Ability to write routine reports and communicate professionally with customers and colleagues
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access)
